It is the mission of the East Bay Jewish Community Teen Foundation (EBJCTF) of 2011 to fund organizations that provide rehabilitation to people affected by violent conflict in Africa and Israel through medical care, psychological services, and educational opportunities that promote self-sufficiency.

70 percent of Israeli children say that terror has had a direct impact on their lives. 42 percent suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Violence is a growing problem in both areas and is commonplace in the poorer regions of Africa. In South Africa, 1 in 3 women said that they were subject to violent rape in the past year. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, 1,250 Congolese citizens die every day. That’s 38,000 people each month. 5.4 million people have been killed since 1998, making it the most brutal conflict since World War II.
