COPS WALK 2012
C&O Canal/Harpers Ferry National Park
The 8th Annual COPS WALK will bring survivors, friends and the law enforcement community together to support Concerns of Police Survivors’ hands-on programs.
Our journey will take on the C&O Canal Path along the Potomac River and go into Harpers Ferry National Park. The goal is to not only raise funds so C.O.P.S. can continue helping to rebuild the shattered lives of those who lost a loved one in the line of duty, but also raise awareness and show support of the officers who work in our communities day to day. The walk provides a physical challenge and the opportunity to spend time with other survivors, law enforcement and friends walking in memory of their fallen officer. Each year, between 140 and 180 officers are killed in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. C.O.P.S. provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. There is no membership fee to join C.O.P.S., for the price paid is already too high.
If you have any questions, please contact Patty Friend, Development Assistant, at 573-346-4911 or send an email to patty_friend@nationalcops.org. C.O.P.S. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
