Story
Every school day in America, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer,
the #1 disease killer of children ages 0-15. Help these Rally Kids,
children who have fought or are fighting cancer, raise at least $500 each
for the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research this September,
National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Rally Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, empowers volunteers
across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer
research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and,
ultimately, cures. In its first six years, Rally Foundation for Childhood
Cancer Research (Rally) has provided more than $3 million in childhood cancer
research grants supporting more than 60 projects nationwide. For every
dollar given to Rally, 93 cents goes to support its mission, according to
independently audited financials. Rally Foundation is recognized with the
Independent Charities Seal of Excellence. Of the 1,000,000 charities
operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer
than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those,
fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.
Rally Foundation was born out of a grassroots initiative to fund childhood
cancer research. When William Olson was diagnosed with a relapsed brain
tumor, Rally's founder and CEO, Dean Crowe, simply asked what could she do
to help to William's family. The answer: fund childhood cancer research.
From there, Rally was born.
