SOS is a unique, local foster care community nestled in Coconut Creek that provides a home to 75 children. Over the past 18 years, they have provided shelter, safety, nurturing, and family to hundreds of children, many of whom grow up with the village as their only true “home.”
But family and nurturing doesn’t end at age 18. We, as parents, always welcome our children's return visits home, no matter what their age. Throughout their lives, they will always have our ear, our advice, our comfort, and our help.
This is why Kiwanis is so passionate about supporting the SOS “Moving Forward, Moving Up” fund. This special fund allows SOS to continue being home and family for their young adults long after they leave the Village. SOS support includes help finding homes and jobs, continuing education, starting businesses, providing for their own children, and much more!

This special fund allows SOS the freedom to continue being home to these children long after they strike out on their own. They know that they can come home to SOS to visit for holidays, receive sage help and advice, and a leg up when necessary.
All proceeds from our annual Tropical Pleasure Walk go directly toward this very special fund. We invite you to help us provide family to these wonderful children by becoming a sponsor for our 12th Annual Tropical Pleasure Walk on November 5, 2011.
