We need to raise $7,500 for three dogs in our program to have very necessary surgeries.
Chip, Zac and Duke are all dogs who need your help.
Lovely CHIP is an 8-year-old girl who came into the program on an extremely urgent basis. We received this email during Thanksgiving week:
"Hi Celeste, My name is XXX and I am in a pretty serious predicament ... it's kind of a long story so here it is ... I have a GSP by the name of Chip, she is 8 years old, and we also have a second dog named Dora that we got from a Rescue. Both Dora and Chip have never been friends, in fact they hate each other and get into terrible aggressive fights so they have been living their lives taking shifts in cages. I recently moved to NY away from home in Littleton, MA and just came home for Thanksgiving to find that Chip has a dislocated hip and torn ligament, and an infection in her front left leg from a fight a few weeks that swelled to the size of a golf ball. Tonight, I literally applied very little pressure and the wound just exploded with pus and blood. Everyone in my family has somehow neglected to notice what bad shape Chip is in, and no one has been taking care of her. I need help. I don't have the funds to get her the help she needs, I can't take her to NY with me, but she obviously needs to be seen and taken care of, and needs a better life. I am so so so upset about all of this, and hate that it has come down to this. PLEASE give me a call when you can, ANYTIME."
When we accepted Chip into our program, she was in severe pain both from the dog bite injury and her knee. Chip has already had a minor surgery to the dog bite area and her knee seemed to be healing OK on its own. Chip was adopted out, took a spill on the ice, and unfortunately came back to us in worse shape than when she was adopted. Chip has been unable to bear weight on her rear leg since being returned to us and has been on pain medication continuously. Chip has turned out to be a lovely, gentle girl with very few issues. We hate seeing her in such pain.
She is now undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in her knee and will need physical therapy post-surgery.

ZAC, an 8-year-old boy, had been adopted but unfortunately his adopter ran into some personal problems and we took Zac back into our program. He had been basically left alone for a period of 6 months prior, living in a basement with outside access with family members going in to feed him once a day. Since we took him back, Zac has been bleeding rectally and after numerous trips to the vet, testing etc., we finally were able to determine the cause is either a polyp or tumor in his colon. We have no idea how long this has been going on because no one was paying attention to Zac. Zac needs a colonoscopy, biopsy and possible surgical removal of the growth.

DUKE is an 8-year-old boy who came back into our program with very bad teeth and growths on his chest which need to be removed. The growths are not only unsightly but can become cancerous. Removing them will make him more adoptable.

Can you help us help these 3 dogs? Donations are tax deductible and no amount is too small.
THANK YOU in advance from GSP Rescue NE and Chip, Zac and Duke.
