With a contribution to Yinghua Academy Foundation you help teach tomorrow's global citizens: Minnesota students, fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, rigorously educated and nurtured in a supportive K-8 charter public school environment.

Your donation will help us meet our 2012-13 goal of raising $80,050 to support Yinghua Academy's outstanding educational program. The school's cutting-edge curriculum development is recognized nationally and internationally for its effectiveness leading to bi-literacy in Mandarin Chinese and English for all students. Our students build both subject area knowledge and Mandarin fluency from year to year.

Buzz About the School

In 2012 Yinghua Academy was ranked as a Top Ten Public School in Minnesota out of all 2,255 Minnesota public elementary, middle, and secondary schools based on overall student achievement. Yinghua is the highest performing language immersion program in the state. The vision of Yinghua Academy has garnered international attention. In 2009, Yinghua was featured in a TIME magazine article about Chinese language schools. In 2011, Yinghua Academy’s Chinese immersion model was highlighted in an Asia Society publication on Chinese Language Learning.


How Funds Are Used

Partnerships between Yinghua and Twin Cities cultural organizations are a main area of support. Our parent teacher organization believes strongly in taking advantage of the rich cultural offerings of our urban environment, including support for the whole school’s visit to see the Minnesota Institute of Arts Terracotta Warriors exhibit in December. The school’s partnerships enhance the curriculum and take advantage of the wide range of available cultural resources. Funds also are used to enrich programming during and after school, with special events, such as Chinese New Year and the schoolwide Spelling Bee, and activities such as Lego League and Orchestra. Yinghua Academy is committed to providing music, art, and other opportunities to benefit our children’s education.
