To help those suffering in the aftermath of Haiti's earthquake, while assisting people struggling with homelessness in our own community.

On January 12, 2010, Haiti experienced the strongest earthquake recorded in the past 200 years. An estimated 230,000 people were killed from the massive effects of the earthquake in the country's capital, Port-au-Prince. At the same time, HOPE has experienced a drastic increase in the number of individuals seeking emergency shelter services in northern Oakland County.

This Friday evening, April 23rd, Wayne State University's International Social Work Organization will host the World Music Fundraiser for Haiti, from 8pm-2am at the Magic Stick, in Detroit's Majestic Theatre Complex. HOPE Hospitality & Warming Center is co-sponsoring the event, with proceeds benefiting the international work of American Red Cross in Haiti, and HOPE's work assisting people struggling with homelessness in Southeast Michigan. Whether or not you are able to attend, please consider supporting this event with a gift to help the people of Haiti, as well as those who are in need of assistance in our own community. See the flyer above for event details.
