The WSIFF MISSION:The WSIFF is dedicated to the creation of opportunities for artistic interaction and exchange among independent filmmakers, directors, producers, distributors, backers, and the film going community. It is our mission to not only exhibit the best films available, but also to serve as a medium for new projects to get launched, financed and distributed. Networking opportunities at the WSIFF builds lasting connections in the unique backdrop of New Mexico.

Dear Friends, We are very excited to announce that the 6th annual White Sands International Film Festival will take place April, 15-18th, 2010.

Last year the WSIFF screened over 50 films, from the Oscar Winning “The Red Violin” followed by a Q & A with Director François Girard, to screening a series of animated shorts by NMSU’s own CMI Students.

After last year’s success, we are excited to once again bring recognition to the city of Las Cruces, high quality entertainment, nationally important industry, and intensified arts education to our region.

With a special focus on Latino and New Mexican filmmaking, the WSIFF screens both outstanding short and feature length documentaries and narratives. The festival also hosts a wide range of cinema, panels, and workshops, taught by well recognized and experienced Industry professionals. The WSIFF builds lasting connections and offers opportunities for networking and the nurturing of the next generation of filmmakers.

The WSIFF draws tourism and the entertainment industry to Las Cruces and gives visitors the opportunity to see the Southern New Mexico landscape and heritage. Filmmakers will be enchanted with such places as Old Mesilla, the Organ Mountains, and of course White Sands. The Film Commission and the WSIFF will collaborate to encourage future film making in Las Cruces.

The White Sands International Film Festival is a 501 3c non-profit organization funded by donations from those interested in supporting art and industry in Las Cruces.
