Young Life White Bear - Mahtomedi Area

The years of adolescence can be turbulent, lonely, and difficult. Whether one is a "joiner" actively engaged in school and extracurricular activities, or a "non-joiner" who tends to go it alone, often the key to unlocking the potential in a young person is the consistent presence of one or more caring adults, alongside them in the journey. Young Life offers kids genuine, unconditional friendships with caring, Christian adults who extend God's welcome without precondition, regardless of a kid's background.

Our programming consists of weekly events in safe settings that allow kids to "be kids" and have fun together (we call these gatherings "Club"), small group discussions where kids who want to can have deeper discussions about life and faith, Camp experiences in the summer and fall, and, most important, an intentional pursuit of deepening friendships on behalf of our adult volunteers that communicates to a teenager that we care about kids on their "turf," not just when they show up at one of our planned activities.

We have four programs running in our local community: two high school programs (for White Bear Lake and Mahtomedi, respectively), a combined middle school ministry, and a ministry called "Capernaum" for teenagers with special needs.
