Supporting promising liposarcoma research to save and improve lives!
The Wendy Walk was formed by the children of Wendy Landes - Matt, Ali and Jackie - to support her when she was diagnosed with liposarcoma three years ago. Since her diagnosis, Wendy has undergone several surgeries and numerous aggressive chemotherapy protocols in an attempt to halt the progress of this disease. In 2010, family and friends of Wendy participated in the first annual Wendy Walks. In two years, the walks have raised more than $200,000 and led to the funding of an international collaborative liposarcoma research study!
This year, the Wendy Walk continues with the goal of supporting another promising research study. Your support of the walk in New York City will help us reach that goal.
The Wendy Walk collects donations in order to fund liposarcoma research through the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative. The Liddy Shriver Initiative is a Collective Giving Fund within FJC, a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit Public Charity and a Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. As such, all donations and gifts made to FJC that are designated for the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative are tax-deductible donations to the extent allowed by United States law.
