The Washington Literacy Council serves District adults who have the most limited reading skills and greatest employment needs.

Love Letters for Literacy, the Washington Literacy Council’s signature event, takes place on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the National Museum of Women in Arts.

Byron Pitts will be joining us as emcee for the evening thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Horatio Alger Association for Distinguished Americans, Inc. Mr. Pitts is Chief National Correspondent for the CBS Evening News, a contributing correspondent for "60 Minutes; and author of Step Out On Nothing, his personal story of overcoming his functional illiteracy.

Please join us for an evening celebrating the WLC’s efforts to improve literacy in the District of Columbia.
