The Vola Lawson Breast Cancer Memorial Fund aka The Walk to Fight Breast Cancer provides free mammograms to uninsured Alexandria Women
Since it's inception in 1994, the Alexandria Walk to Fight Breast Cancer has helped over 8,000 uninsured Alexandria women receive free mammograms and other diagnostic screenings. To honor the Walk's founder, Vola Lawson who passed away December 2013, the Walk has been renamed.
Over the last several years, the Walk Fund usage has increased while donations have seen a decrease, resulting in the Fund's near depletion. If more money is not raised, this service to the Alexandria community will no longer be available. Help to keep Vola's vision alive! Donate today!
