As high-end development continues to be proposed in and around Los Angeles' Figueroa Corridor, thousands of residents and workers continue to be forced to leave their communities due to skyrocketing rents, slum conditions, tenant harassment, job loss, and housing discrimination.
UNIDAD fights for these residents and workers. The campaign stands for smart, fair growth and community development. That means improving lives, not just buildings and streets.
And it means neighbors must have a voice in the fate of their neighborhoods. Together, we can transform a history of exclusion into a present and future of participation, cooperation, and shared prosperity.
We currently have an opportunity to ensure that USC's planned expansion does not displace long-time residents, drive rents through the roof, and doesn’t push out small businesses in favor of chain stores and restaurants, and that it creates good living wage jobs for local residents.
We’re raising $2,500 to help cover campaign expenses. Give $10, $25, $50, or $100 (or more!) and be a part of community change in Los Angeles.
