UNIVERSITY CENTERS OF THE SAN MIGUEL INC

As the only higher education organization in the region, the University Centers of the San Miguel (UCSM) provides instruction that supports social, environmental, and economic needs. The 21st century brings rapid and profound changes in technology, population, the environment, and resources. We must engage the entire population in life-long learning, and continual training so that everyone has the tools to successfully lead their families and community into a world that is different than the one we understand now.

The Telluride Summer College combines Environmental Science and Sustainable Studies classes to create a learning environment that combines building community with education. In 2012, the full 9-credit Certificate in Sustainable Studies from Colorado Mesa University will be offered exclusively in Telluride. UCSM is also the Regional Center for Colorado Northwestern Community College.

UCSM specializes in business and non-profit development, second languages, computer programs, and film, sustainability, and general education. Partnerships throughout the San Miguel Watershed create strong community outreach and high quality education. UCSM is as much of a community development organization as an entity of higher education.
