We'll be riding bicycles for 2 1/2 months over 3700 miles from NH to Vancouver - all to raise money and awareness for affordable housing.
The ability to find affordable housing is dwindling in America. In 2001, 4.8 million low to moderate income working families spent more than ½ of their income on housing. By 2010, this number had jumped to 9.5 million – just shy of doubling in just 9 years. Over time people are not making enough each year to keep pace with rising living costs. Grassroots movements like ours though are an awesome way to reverse the trend and get people a house and a home. Not only are we raising funds that go directly to organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together, we are getting people interested in and motivated to help end the affordable housing crisis.
