Twin Ports Teen Council Give to the Max

Teen Council is a peer education group for high school students. Through Education, Advocacy & Service we promote healthy sexuality in our community. We go into schools around the Duluth area and teach lessons on pregnancy prevention, healthy relationships, sexually transmitted infections, decisions making, etc, as well as organize community service events to spread the word about sexual health.

Through our 12 plus years in school, we learn math, science, English etc. and we might not use these skills depending on which proffesion we pick. One thing that we will use for the rest of our lives no matter what we do for a living is our sexuality. Everyone has it and it's much more complex than just a sperm and an egg. This complicated, lifelong subject is only taught to us in school for at most four weeks. We need to learn about this in order to make healthy decisions pertaining to it. This is why comprehensive sex education is so important and why Teen Council strives to give our peers the accurate information that they can use for the rest of their lives.
