Help Bread for the City, the awesome organization where I work, give holiday meals to over 9,000 DC residents this year.
I never fail to be astonished by the amount of food that comes in and out of our food pantry every single day. One minute I'm bagging some vegetables thinking how we have so many, and the next minute, the shelves are empty. This trend is proving to be even more true now that we are in the thick of Holiday Helpings. Volunteers bag a few hundred dinners which get stored literally everywhere we have space and a day later, poof!, they're all gone.
You can see how many turkeys we've given away so far by going to www.breadforthecity.org !
This is why I'm reaching out to you, my friends and family! Feeding people doesn't come free, so you can help Bread for the City provide thousands of DC residents with a holiday meal just like you and I enjoy. It only costs $29 to feed a family of 4!
And just to sweeten the deal, literally, I am offering a dozen Eat N' Park Smiley Cookies to a lucky donor. (or two!) I will pick randomly from everyone who donates! Unsure what these Smiley Cookies are about? Just ask someone from Pittsburgh, they'll tell you. :)
So PLEASE help me raise $500 for Bread for the City. That's just over 17 families fed!
