Tri for Paws and Stripes
John Ramer fundraising for PAWS AND STRIPES
To raise money for Paws and Stripes to support their mission of helping Veterans suffering from PTSD.
In 2012, US military suicides exceeded combat related deaths. Many of these suicides are a result of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injuries (TBI) sustained during combat. As of now, when these Vets return home, those suffering from TBI or PTSD are not receiving the help they need and deserve. These are neighbors, friends and family who have served honorably to support and defend the Constitution, but return home with an unseen injury.
Studies have shown that service dogs have helped Veterans suffering from PTSD or TBI become a functioning member of society again. Paws and Stripes is a non-profit that pairs Veterans with shelter and rescue dogs for this purpose, effectively saving two lives. I am participating in the SuperSEAL Triathlon, a 1500m swim, a 25 mile bike and a 6 mile run in San Diego on March 17th to raise awareness and raise money for Paws and Stripes.
I have a goal of $500 so even if you donate a small amount, it will still go towards making a difference. Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your support!
