Tree Trust
You can help plant trees in local parks, and help us provide job training to disadvantaged youth who make improvements to our community.
Our mission
To improve the community environment by investing in people.
What we do
Our hands-on job training programs help disadvantaged youth and adults make lasting improvements in the community while they become great workers and find positive direction in their lives.
Our community forestry programs empower people to take an active role in improving the local environment and show them that they can make a difference.
And our environmental education programs turn students into informed environmental advocates.

How we started
Tree Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1976 to address two problems in the community at that time: the devastation of the urban tree canopy due to Dutch elm disease, and high unemployment and poverty rates. We began combating these issues by providing out-of-work individuals with paid jobs and training to reforest the Twin Cities.
In our 36 years we have expanded our programming to provide integrated employment training, case management, community forestry and environmental education initiatives throughout the Twin Cities. We offer services to youth and adults of all ethnicities and abilities; and, per our original mission, we maintain a particular focus on underserved populations, distressed neighborhoods, and the environment.
