On Black Friday, I will run a lap around my high school track for every $12 I raise for the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Currently my high school gym in Toms River, NJ is being used as a shelter for people that lost their homes due to Hurricane Sandy. Thankfully my family and close friends have survived the storm with minimal to no damage, but there are so many others in the community and friends of friends who lost everything.
I've decided to challenge myself to run 1 lap around my high school track for every $12 I raise. I think the last time I ran for something was for 8th grade track, I am not a runner.... but this storm has devastated parts of my hometown, so I decided to take on this challenge and join the "Track Friday" for Hurricane Sandy Relief Team. Collectively, our goal is to raise $5,000 for charities dedicated to helping others in NY and NJ in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Here's how you can help support us: Donate to my charity and I will run 1 lap around the Toms River h.s North track for every $12 raised, with an ultimate goal of raising $150 before Thanksgiving. Every $25 raised for the Foodbank provides 75 meals to people.
Or you can join me on Black Friday aka "Track Friday" and fundraise for a charity that you support! Members of my team are running on tracks around the country to raise funds for Hurricane Sandy victims.
Let's do this....Jersey Strong!!
