Help support Tim Holland as he steps out in ministry with National Community Church, working in kids' ministry and media.
This past year I have really been struggling between a desire to do well in my job as a store manager with Starbucks and an ever-present and growing understanding that there is something more, that there has always been something more.
I made a deal with the Lord—you know, one of those things you never expect to actually happen—that when I left Starbucks I would pursue full-time ministry. After several months of double-digit year-over-year percentage in sales growth something happened. I found the target of a political coup, of sorts, that had me looking to leave the company.
Over breakfast with a friend I was reminded of my bartering with God and was posed the question: "Why don't you be a protege?" I began to reply but found I had no answer. It was time to put that promise to the test.
For the next year I will be a protege with NCC, which is a program that has you work as an unpaid staff member while also going through an intense journey of mentoring and discipleship. My time will be split between kids ministry and media (video, graphic design, and web).
As I explained above, this is an unpaid position, which is where you come in. I am not looking for people to simply throw money my way as I raise funds to support my living expenses for one year in DC. Rather, I am looking for friends who can be a part of this journey with me, sharing in both the sacrifices and blessings that are certain to come.
If you are reading this message, it is because I would like to invite you on this journey with me, to be one of the friends I raise around me as I head into this year of things largely unknown and yet to be explored.
I am looking for monthly supporters, for sure, but if you are unable to commit to a monthly contribution, please consider a one-time donation here through my Razoo page. I can't promise a Precious Moments figurine, or what have you, in appreciation of your contribution, but I will keep you in the loop with what is going on in my life as I pursue Christ on this journey into ministry.
Aside from what would seem most practical, I truly need your support in prayer. This is a big life change and not a day goes by that I do not question my motives, worthiness, and clarity of mind in jumping headfirst into this new season. If you would like to make a point of praying for me this year, please let me know and I will keep you updated with more specific needs as they arise.
Please do not hesitate to call or email me should you have any questions. Seriously, I'll feel this whole thing out with you as we go. I would love your financial support and certainly value your prayers.
