RYAN WHITE C A R E ACT TITLE II COMMUNITY AIDS NATIONAL NETWORK
The Community Access National Network (CANN) works to improve access to comprehensive medical services for people living with HIV and HCV.
Originally called the Ryan White C.A.R.E. Act Title II Community AIDS National Network, the Community Access National Network exists to promote awareness about the importance of AIDS Drug Assistance Programs for those who are uninsured and underinsured.
Since 2009, due to budget constraints and our country's economic troubles, states have instituted waitlists as cost-containment measures. As of July 14, 2011, there are over 8,500 people on these lists. To these individuals, ADAPs are the only way for them to receive treatment for their HIV/AIDS.
It is 2011, and it has been 30 years since the birth of the AIDS epidemic. No one should have to go without care for this disease.
