We started in 2005 when we realized no one wanted to adopt the old and lame horses from the rescues. We were going to be a sanctuary retirement center. But the need was so great, we have horses of every age and ability now.

Our founder was a nurse who worked with victims of abuse. She realized that horses could help them recover. She started by inviting children from a local shelter to come ride the horses. The program was so successful we added a therapeutic riding program. Children learn to ride and care for horses and it builds their self confidence and leadership skills.
