The WIP - Moving Humanity Forward through Women’s Perspectives

To increase the participation of underrepresented women in the media via The WIP, a fiscally sponsored program of the ACTION Council.
The Women's International Perspective (The WIP) seeks to move humanity forward through women's perspectives by publishing stories that inspire dialogue, ideas, and solutions to global issues.
Most media is created by journalists who record and distribute stories from an outsider’s perspective. The WIP encourages the publication of stories happening within the community where the writer lives, or where the writer has an expert’s perspective. This connection humanizes the articles, gives them depth, and increases the reader’s interest in the stories.
The WIP regularly publishes articles on issues impacting human rights, the environment, culture, education, and women and children’s health. All articles are fact-checked by a process developed specifically for The WIP that melds guidelines from The Fact-Checker’s Bible by Sarah Harrison Smith and training from a fact checker at The New Yorker magazine.
The WIP believes women, as leaders on the world stage, measure greatness not by power and might, but instead by the health and well being of our children, our communities, and our environment. We believe that through women's voices we will discover solutions to our global problems that are achievable, sustainable, and benefit everyone. We believe by growing websites like TheWIP.net a more peaceful world will be realized.
In five short years, on a shoestring budget and many volunteer and intern hours, The WIP became a viable online publication with writers from over 40 countries and international readers from 150 countries. As a fiscally sponsored project of The ACTION Council of Monterey County, The WIP is able to receive tax-deductible donations. Please join our efforts to move humanity forward through women’s perspectives.
