The MEM Project
Tova Speter fundraising for CENTER FOR JEWISH CULTURE & CREATIVITY
Engaging communities, exploring Jewish identity, and encouraging connection through the artistic process and collaborative mural projects.
Inspired by the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam (“healing the world”), The MEM Project fosters collective exploration while offering a new understanding of community partnership. This innovative, mural-based experience of community engagement builds self-esteem and generates new connections resulting in a lasting visual representation of creative collaboration.
The MEM Project is committed to strengthening the next generation of Jewish leaders by emphasizing the need to both foster the creative exploration of individual spiritual identity and harness the powerful impact of the collective Jewish community. Young adults will have the opportunity to explore their personal Jewish identity, to practice Jewish values of social justice and community service through the expressive arts, to connect with under-served communities as a means of empowering and giving voice to those who may not think they have one, and to develop into future Jewish leaders who prioritize acts of community philanthropy. In addition, under-served communities will gain access to creative arts programming and develop self-esteem as they recognize some of their own hidden talents. All participants will feel empowered as they become active members of their community who realize they can make a positive difference in their neighborhoods.
