The END Fund
Want to change the world? Here's how: Helping to end Neglected Tropical Diseases is one of the best ways to assist MILLIONS of people:
400 million people in sub-Saharan Africa are at risk for one or more neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), a group of disabling, disfiguring, and sometimes deadly diseases affecting the poorest of the poor all over the world. Thriving in impoverished communities, particularly in rural areas, conflict zones, and urban slums, NTDs are a fundamental reason why the poor remain poor.
Fortunately, there are highly cost-effective, proven interventions for the seven most common NTDs. For approximately US $0.50 per person, per year, these diseases can be prevented and treated – making the control and elimination of the seven most common NTDs a best buy in public health.
The END Fund to Fight NTDs in Africa is a private philanthropy fund that provides effective private sector interventions to reduce the prevalence of the seven most common NTDs that, together, cause up to 90% of the NTD burden in sub-Saharan Africa. The END Fund will provide the capital resources needed to address this NTD burden as well as the capacity to collaborate with governments and health and development organizations operating on the ground to scale-up treatment to those most at risk.
In partnership with active, visionary donors and implementation partners on the ground, The End Fund will advance the race toward the elimination of NTDs, ushering in a more healthy and more prosperous future for Africa.
