Dartmouth students established the organization in 1999 and Dartmouth alumni continue to lead the organization in fundraising efforts.
I am supporting this fundraiser because I believe in the organization to have impact and think the DREAM alumni are key to ensuring sustainability and driving growth.
Founded in 1999 by Dartmouth College students, DREAM has grown to work with 13 colleges and 18 affordable housing communities throughout Vermont and Massachusetts. We currently support over 350 mentoring pairs.
A child in DREAM has access to a variety of experiences, including:
Our programs are driven by empowerment, with youth and mentors collaborating to create fun and rewarding activities that spring from their imaginations. Mentors and mentees plan their activities together, and our unique program design cultivates decision-making and leadership skills among mentors and youth.
With a local program established at nearly every major college in Vermont, DREAM opened its doors in Boston in 2009 with two local programs: Boston University and the Orchard Gardens community, and Northeastern University and the Madison Park community. Equally significant, the program successfully adapted from the rural to the urban setting. We have always had the vision to share our exceptional program with as many others as we can reach in a way that maintains the quality of the DREAM experience.
The DREAM alumni are helping to bring DREAM to Philadelphia!
