Up On Top supports families by providing children an enriching out-of-school experience with: low student-to-teacher ratios, academic support to fortify knowledge learned in school, social skills engagement, art, music, recreation and practiced healthy eating habits.

Children who attend after school programs over the course of their lifetime consistently improve test scores in school, have better social skills, and participate less in unhealthy behaviors and activities.

Up On Top offers confidence, stability and play to children living in two of the lowest socio-economic, toughest neighborhoods in San Francisco, the Tenderloin and Western Addition, preparing them to be successful in school, work and in their communities.

On August 20th – the first day of the new school year – teachers Judith, Kee Kee, Autumn,
Monet, Anthony, Abby and Janet, welcomed 116 children to a new year of after school at
Up On Top. That’s 35 more children than we welcomed last year – an almost 30% increase.

This means there is also an increase of $120, 470 to our budget, giving us a goal
of raising $32,000.

Up On Top receives funding from the City of San Francisco’s Department of Children, Youth and their Families, San Francisco Unified School District, public and private foundations, the business community, and individuals, but it is not enough. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
