RND awareness/education is CRITICAL! Only knowledge can yield true understanding and support. Please help me spread the word about RND!
As long as I can remember, I've had pain. Like most RND kids I was seeing several specialists, misdiagnosed with arthritis, underwent tons of testing, taking several meds and missing LOTS of school. Nothing was working and the pain continued to worsen. Thankfully, my parents were advised to take me to CHOP. At age 7, I was finally diagnosed with RND and admitted into Dr. Sherry's AMPS/RND day hospital program. It was anything but easy, but I made it through in just 2 weeks. Did pretty well for a few years but had to return to the RND program (in-hospital this time) at the end of 5th grade. I'm off to a good start in middle school, still have some really painful days, but I know I'm stronger than the RND will ever be.
