Team Mia

Team Mia is running the Tacoma City Half Marathon and the Portland Rock n' Roll half marathon in honor of an AMAZING 4 year old girl. Mia is beautiful, bright, funny and has been battling High Risk A.L.L (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) most of her life. This girl is tougher than most adults we know. She was diagnosed in 2009 at the age of 2. She quickly went into remission, but relapsed in December 2010. Mia's doctors and incredible parents were able to get her into remission again and prepare her for a bone marrow transplant. Mia's twin brother Noah is her biggest supporter. This little hero donated bone marrow for Mia's bone marrow transplant last April. Although the transplant was successful, Mia relapsed a 2nd time in July, now battling for her life for a 3rd time. Mia has been in Seattle, staying at Ronald McDonald House at Seattle Children's Hospital since December 2010. Can you imagine staying a better part of a year at a hospital?
