Heidi Zetterwall fundraising for AUTISM SOCIETY OF MINNESOTA
Steps of Hope is the largest annual fundraiser for the Autism Society of Minnesota. Walk with us because every step is progress...
George and the rest of Team Cheeseburger will once again be participating in the Autism Society of Minnesota’s annual Steps of Hope fundraising walk. The walk benefits individuals and their families coping with autism. Please consider supporting us as we take Steps of Hope! We have come so far since George was diagnosed in August of 2006. What was once a strange and new world called Autism, is now part of our daily routine. I have learned so much, and the Autism Society of Minnesota has been an invaluable resource to us. For those of you that don’t know, Autism is a developmental disorder that strikes children in the first three years of life. It impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of cognition, social interaction and communication skills. Each child is affected differently.
Please consider making a donation and sponsoring George and Team Cheeseburger for the Walk. You can donate on this secure site, or if you would like to write a check that is fine too. Please make the check out to AuSM and mail it to us. The donation is tax-deductible. You can get a copy of the tax-deduction form at www.ausm.org
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
In case you're curious as to the meaning behind our team name of George's Cheeseburgers...George's favorite computer game when we first did this walk years ago was a PacMan style game in which you eat the cheeseburgers and fries. He would ask to play, "cheeburbur" all the time. Since it was his favorite game, I thought it would make a great team name.
Who is AuSM and where do these funds go? Established in 1971, the Autism Society of MN (AuSM) exists to enhance the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. We strive to achieve our mission through collaboration, education, advocacy and support. Services like support groups, social skills classes, mental health services, education programs for families and professionals, lending library and awareness events are made possible by contributions to AuSM. Keep your dollars local by supporting the organization that supports you!
