Help support the riders of Team Texas as they raise awareness for fallen officers and support for their surviving family members.
We are a group of individuals who believe that those officers who've lost their lives in service to their community should never be forgotten. Likewise, we believe those people these brave heroes have left behind deserve and need our support. Team Texas for Families of Fallen Officers is a group of Texas law enforcement personnel and police survivors who participate in several fundraisers throughout the year to benefit the Metroplex Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).
The Law Enforcement United Road to Hope memorial ride is "Team Texas'" premiere event. During National Police Week in May of every year, our membership comes together to participate in an annual bicycle trek of nearly 250 miles from Chesapeake, VA. to Washington, D.C. Law enforcement officers and police survivors from across the nation make this arduous journey to honor the service and sacrifice of their law enforcement colleagues and family who have died in the line of duty. The officers also ride to raise awareness of and provide monetary support to National Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP). National C.O.P.S. uses funds donated from the Road to Hope ride to fund the annual National C.O.P.S. teen summer camp. This camp is exclusively for police surviving children and enables the children to engage in counseling services, meet other survivors, and enjoy typical summer camp fun such as bonfires, swimming, etc.
The Officer Down Memorial Page memorializes fallen officers and tells the stories of their lives, so that others may remember them as time passes on. Concerns Of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) supports families and friends of fallen officers by providing services such as grief counseling, social gatherings and assistance in handling the final affairs of the fallen officers.
Online donations made to Team Texas on this site allow riders with Team Texas to participate in this annual Law Enforcement United charity bicycle ride.
Team Texas has met its fundraising goal for the 2012 year but we are already looking towards the Law Enforcement United Ride in 2013. Due to the donations provided by people across the country, Law Enforcement United was once more able to fund the National C.O.P.S. summer camp and the ODMP webpage for an entire year. Law Enforcement United presented National C.O.P.S. with a check for $150,000 during the Road to Hope memorial ride in 2012. We hope to be able to provide more help to these and other organizations in the future.
Any support that can be provided is greatly appreciated and will assist us in our efforts to keep these great organizations funded so they can continue to honor those who came before us and support the families who suffer from their loss.
