Teachers Empowering Teachers in South Asia

Teacher professional development and training is a tremendous need in the developing world, particularly in schools affected by poverty and conflict. Investing in teachers not only benefits students, it also carries the potential to transform communities. All across India and Sri Lanka there are dedicated teachers who work tirelessly and often without recognition. We strive to support these local heroes by building a fund in their honor to help regularly provide classroom supplies, trainings, and financial support for those serving youth in highly disadvantaged communities. We plan to connect each donor teacher with one teacher in South Asia, so that each donor can see for herself the impact being made on an individual's life. We intend to provide photos and regular updates throughout the year to all who support this important initiative. While we are encouraging those interested in supporting this effort to establish a $20/month recurring donation, we welcome any amount or contribution.
