We bring the community together to celebrate GLBT Pride in the Mpls./St. Paul area, creating a safe space for people to be who they are.
The mission of Pride is to create experiences that bring the greater GLBT community together to commemorate our diverse heritage, foster inclusion, educate and create awareness of issues, and celebrate achievements in equality.
TC Pride is a nonprofit with 1 full time and 1 part time employee. Everyone else volunteers to bring Pride events to our cities! We could not do what we do without our volunteers and our donors.
Donors now have the opportunity to personalize a Hennepin Avenue Banner for the entire month of June. This is a great way to honor and celebrate a loved one.
Pride is about creating space for everyone to celebrate exactly who they are.
“Everywhere else I go, I keep expecting to hear that one snide comment, that one funky look, that one obviously uncomfortable body language because I am gay. But when I am here, I don’t have to worry about any of that happening and I can just be myself."
~ Pride volunteer
Overall attendance has almost doubled in the last decade with 2013 attendance exceeding 350,000, once again making it the largest Pride Celebration in the region and one of the largest in the United States. The Pride Celebration is comprised of several events. The two largest events are the Pride Festival and the Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade, both taking place on the last full weekend in June.
Each year TC Pride also produces other large events: Grand Marshal's Reception, Pride Art Show, Family Picnic, Rainbow Run and other community events.
Your donations keep Pride free and open to all who wish to celebrate the GLBT Community.
