**WISH GRANTED** SW3 - Inclusion Awareness

The mission of the Inclusion Committee is to support the school's vision by educating the entire school community about inclusive social practices, while enhancing and creating opportunities for every student at Bell School. We do this largely through various educational and awareness programs for students, teachers and parents. The Inclusion Committee supports “organized” play activities during recess, parent speaker night, professional development days, and celebrating National Inclusion Week along with other programs.

A common misconception is that inclusion means “the same”, when in fact, inclusion is when you look at the whole child and modify the activity to ensure that he/she has a chance to succeed. The Inclusion Committee works in collaboration with school administrators, teachers and parents to promote awareness of inclusion and provide our students, parents and staff with a greater sense of compassion and understanding for people who are different from them.

Bell’s commitment to inclusion is at the center of our school’s unique culture where knowledge and character are equally nurtured. Your donation to this initiative will allow the Inclusion Committee to continue and expand its important work.
