I'm dreaming big by participating in the DREAM BIGGER! Narcolepsy Walkathon 2014 in New York City. Please join my fundraising team.
We are looking forward to Spring in the Adirondacks and to participating with family and friends in the DREAM BIGGER! Narcolepsy Walkathon 2014 on April 26 in Hudson River Park, NYC.
Since you are reading this you are probably aware that my family and I have dealt with the many aspects of Narcolepsy for most of my life. Chronic disorders impact the whole family and my family has been consistently supportive in helping me live the best way possible with Narcolepsy.
31 years ago I was finally diagnosed as having Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. There are many individuals living with Narcolepsy today who are unaware that there is a name for the struggles that they are experiencing that are caused by Narcolepsy and though there is no cure, there is treatment.
DREAM BIGGER Walkathon is an opportunity to raise awareness about narcolepsy, a serious sleep disorder which affects at least one in every 2,000 people. The debilitating effects of narcolepsy, a life-long disorder, can be lessened by early diagnosis and treatment.
Walkathon donations and sponsorship will support the work of Narcolepsy Network, a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing early diagnosis of narcolepsy, advocating for and supporting persons with narcolepsy and their families, and promoting research for treatment and a cure.
Awareness and understanding by others is so valuable in helping those with narcolepsy live full productive lives. I have been fortunate to have such support from family and friends and hope that these efforts to increase awareness and improve trearment will be of benefit to many others.
