At Surya we believe in continually investing in the betterment of the communities we work with.

Surya was founded in rural North India and is very conscious of the health and educational challenges in rural areas. Access to quality education is critical for the sustenance of the communities we work with. Hungry children can't learn. But nutrition in schools can convert a desperate child into an educated adult - one who can then turn around and help pull their community out of poverty.

Akshaya Patra’s mission to simultaneously address childhood hunger and malnutrition and to promote education for underserved children in India has a special meaning to us.

Akshaya Patra serves over 1.3 million children in rural India a freshly prepared, nutritious lunch daily. For many children, the Akshaya Patra meal is their only complete meal for the day. It serves as an incentive for children to go to school and stay in school.

Like Akshaya Patra, we want every child to have equitable access to food and education.

Our goal of $25,000 will feed over 1,600 kids for an entire year. Your contributions will help us make a significant difference to kids and communities in rural India. Please support our cause.
