NCCC is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to serving women with, or at risk for, cervical cancer and HPV disease in US.
I decided to start a local chapter for this wonderful organization after I underwent my first of two surgeries for pre-cancerous lesions. I am happy to report that all of my follow-up tests over the past year have come back normal. Now I am focused on continuing my journey of spreading awareness on cervical cancer and HPV to my community in South Carolina. I am very grateful that my situation was caught in a stage before it turned into invasive cervical cancer. Pap tests do save lives and every person in the world should be aware of this. If you don't go, you don't know! And believe me, it is much better to know what you could possibly be facing before it is too late! This type of cancer can be prevented and detected early and everyone in the world should be aware of this issue.
