This February our family will be traveling to Siem Reap, Cambodia and volunteering with the Ponheary Ly foundation. The Ponheary Ly Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to serve the many children in Cambodia who live in the poorest rural villages and do not have access to equitable educational opportunities. The schools they support are already established government schools with local Cambodian teachers. The Foundation supplies kids with the materials they need to begin school, provides nutritious breakfast when necessary, and provides stipends to teachers and assists them in their continuing education. Donations also supply the teachers with the materials they need to properly teach and support special projects like gardens and clean drinking water. The Foundation has won numerous international awards for its work.
We will be working in a grammar school with 4th-5th graders on science projects. We are organizing projects that add some basic science activities to the curriculum as well as a couple art projects. We also hope to help the Foundation raise money for its many endeavors. They are doing really impressive work for the children of northern Cambodia.
Please consider a taxdeductable donating to the Ponheary Ly Foundation through our portal on Razoo.

We set an arbitrary goal of $1000. However, 100% of any amount raised will go to the foundation and the children's education.
