Our largest expense for our program is our largest asset, Shilo! Help us raise funds to cover the cost of his food, vet bills and training.

This last year the Thomas Center for Therapeutic Riding was gifted a new horse staff member for its program, Shilo. Good natured, steady, ready to play and striking, Shilo has quickly become a favorite of our riders.

He is the only horse that is owned by the program. The other horses belong to owners who generously share them with us so we can keep our program costs down. However, we can’t count on the horses of others alone. We need to have a well trained, sound horse in order to offer our fun, healing classes on a weekly basis.

The fact is horses are expensive! His food, supplements, vet bills, and training add up. Since we are an all volunteer staffed program- no humans get paid- our biggest expense is our loving Shilo. Each year we need to raise funds to cover our horse expenses in order to keep the cost of our lessons reasonable for our students.

Please support the Center by making a donation to help cover the costs of our tall, dark and handsome horse. We appreciate your support and enjoy seeing you at the barn.

The Thomas Center for Therapeutic Riding is approaching its 10th year of offering low cost, high quality, personalized therapeutic riding classes for children and adults in the Portland area. Thank you for being a part of our program.

Best wishes always,

The Thomas Center for Therapeutic Riding Board
