Support my participation in the Ride-A-Thon!
Kelly Murphy fundraising for River Valley Riders
I need your help to meet my goal.
Some of you may have heard of River Valley Riders, a Minnesota non-profit organization who provides horse related activities including therapeutic riding and driving to children and adults by addressing needs in the areas of physical, sensory, neurological, and/or mental health. They are a great program that is very considerate of the horses as well as the people in their program.
This event is a major fundraiser for River Valley Riders, 100% of the income from the 2010 event will be contributed to the Capital Campaign for Land and Improvements in order to expand therapeutic riding and driving opportunities for people with special needs. The purpose of the Ride-a-Thon is to raise funds for the program to develop their own facility - so the riders can ride in inclement weather and have wheelchair accessible bathrooms to name a few things.
Every year they have a Ride-A-Thon and I have been a participant for the last few years. The event is happening at Lake Elmo Park Preserve, on Saturday June 26. You can read more about it here: http://www.rivervalleyriders.org/RAT.html. They also have people walking too. I have personally witnessed the difference this program can make in the rider's lives and I hope you will consider supporting them.
