Support Health Clinic in La Chureca (Managua's city dump)

Funding has been reduced by 50%. Help ensure that the clinic continues to provide reliable healthcare in La Chureca.
Lachurecachildback

La Chureca is a community of about 1500 people located within Managua’s municipal city dump where disease, drug abuse, and sexual violence permeate inhabitants’ daily lives. With some financial support from Austin Samaritans, MPI supports a small clinic that is located within the dump. The clinic, “Casa Base de Salud,” is run by the Nicaraguan foundation, FUNJOFUDESS, and provides general medical attention 6 days a week, as well as health education and promotion. In 2009, medical services have expanded to include dentistry and gynecology.

Unfortunately, the clinic's funding has recently been reduced by 50%. To ensure that it continues to provide reliable healthcare, MPI has directed much of its fundraising efforts towards supporting the clinic.
