We will be rebuilding the homes and the communities of those who lost everything that they know and love in New Orleans

Imagine waking up one morning and everything that you know, your local grocery store, the post office, your neighbor's house, and your own, is all gone. You might think that this is a bad dream in which everything seems unfamiliar but to the people in New Orleans whose lives have been affected by Hurricane Katrina, this is reality.

I am traveling to New Orleans this Spring Break (from March 6 to March 15) to rebuild the homes and communities of those who lost theirs in the natural disasters that have taken place in this area. My personal belief is that it is immensly important to view the world through others' eyes in order to appreciate everything that you have and give back to those who don't. I think that it couldn't be more important for American's everywhere to lend a helping hand to our own whose lives have been impacted forever. There is more than enough work to be done down in New Orleans and a group of us have decided to spend our Spring Break being there to support and help the people that, five years after Hurricane Katrina, are still living in hostiles and trailers.

I am very appreciative of any support that I can personally receive in making my little contribution to our country. Thank you so much!
