For 40 years Annapolis Opera, while presenting grand opera, has nurtured talented young opera singers from throughout the region, giving Annapolis Opera audiences a unique opportunity to enjoy performances by rising opera stars before they gain international fame. Our Annual Vocal Competition, presented at no cost to the public, is another way the Annapolis Opera encourages emerging singers through actual monetary prizes. The children’s opera Annapolis Opera presents every year introduces children to the delights of opera and recently the Annapolis Opera has expanded our outreach to include Title I schools, giving those students an opportunity they might otherwise miss out on entirely.
