SUPERIOR HIKING TRAIL ASSOCIATION
A US registered nonprofit
The Superior Hiking Trail Association (SHTA) is a Minnesota non-profit corporation whose more than 3000 members are dedicated to the completion, preservation, and promotion of the Superior Hiking Trail.
The Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) is a 277-mile long footpath that follows the rocky ridgeline above Lake Superior in northeastern Minnesota from Two Harbors to the Canadian border. People come to the trail to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while hiking the rocky ridges and beautiful forests. The SHT has trailheads with parking lots every 5-10 miles making it ideal for both day hikes and backpacking.
Please help us continue the adventure!
- We need your help to support our construction projects. SHTA is now building 30 miles of trail between Two Harbors and Duluth.
- Your donations also help to maintain the existing trail, repairing and replacing treadway and bridges, creating signs and interpretive panels along the 277 mile route.
For more information about the trail, or to join or volunteer with the Superior Hiking Trail Association please visit our website at www.shta.org.

The Superior Hiking Trail is one of our nation's greatest trails and it is funded entirely by private donations and it deserves any hiker's support.
