The non-profit organization, established in 2001 and based in Maryland, does incredible work to help families in need of basic necessities.

A great many of the people A Wider Circle helps are families moving from shelters to a new home. AWC’s main goal is to provide a bed for everyone to sleep on, and providing other basic necessities such as dressers, couches and dining room tables. They served more than 20,000 individuals and 2,700 families in 2010.

They also put on workshops for parents and children on a wide variety of topics, from life skills to financial planning.

A Wider Circle says that they can furnish the homes of three families for $100. Therefore, our goal is to furnish 30 homes – one for each Major League Baseball team. To do that, we hope to raise $1,000.

Of course, we appreciate whatever you would be able to contribute to the cause. By all means, we’d love to acknowledge your generosity, but if you’d like to donate anonymously, that’s just fine as well.

Everyone should have the privilege of seeing their dreams come true. Keely and I are about to embark on doing so, and it’s through this project that we hope to help others do the same.
