Afceco, a project of Charity Help, supports over 700 orphan in 11 different orphanages. They need your help. Please contribute generously.
AFCECO is an Afghan non-profit organization based in Kabul and fully registered since 2008 with the Afghan government. The mission begun back in 2004 was to come up with an innovative way to help vulnerable Afghan children, orphans and non-orphans whose future is hopeless. The idea is not only to save children from life in the streets, but also to give them a chance to realize their dreams, to become leaders in their communities. This means providing a long-term safe, loving environment in which children of all races must live and work together, and it means providing health and a quality education. After building a reputation our program became known to CharityHelp International (CHI) , a US based 501 (c) non-profit organization. Through the use of the Internet and CHI’s child sponsorship program, this partnership allowed for us to grow. Since AFCECO’s registration in 2008, it has been able to serve about 700 children but also give sanctuary and employment to 90 Afghan nationals, and we have around twenty volunteers. AFCECO also provides relief to adults, in particular widows who are vulnerable and powerless, by giving them work and sanctuary as they help manage the homes.
AFCECO’s product, the children, will have huge returns in the long run. With our first generation raised in AFCECO orphanages now entering university, we see the dawning of a new day in Afghanistan. Our children are determined to help their tired country, to lead the way to prosperity and peace. We need support now, or we will be forced to do the unthinkable and close orphanages.
Facility rents are the most needed area of support. We need to raise around $200,000 by March to pay all rental fees; otherwise we will lose the facilities.o Food and supplies: include all food, clothes, travel, utilities, equipment and supplies.o Education programs that otherwise the children would never receive at public school:
Health Care: all our children come to the orphanage malnourished and lacking in basic immunizations and health care. We provide our own clinic and physician and take care to give the children the health and strength they need. The cost for health care in Afghanistan is prohibitive.
Security: Foreign security is leaving and many different factions are vying for power. We require safe transportation for the children to go from orphanages to school and sports, especially the girls. We require more guards, cameras and better training.
