Stop Red Tide, No Green Slime!

There are many reasons I support raising funds to end Red Tide and Green Slime. I personally think it is very important that we are carefully regulated in how we dispose of pollution and waste.

Red tide is gross; its cause is coastal pollution from human waste, and agricultural runoff , and is more prevalent today, scientists believe, because of rising sea temperatures (ie Global Warming). Red Tide and Green Slime cause skin-eating infections in dolphins.

This is preventable, fixing the way industry disposes of waste and establishing stricter regulations of agricultural runoff can be done, and needs to be to stop Red Tide and Green Slime.

If you could choose to go to a beach that was polluted or not, would you knowingly go to the polluted site? No. Hello, people we are causing ourselves to not be able to enjoy beaches because we are not careful with waste disposal.

And there are other problems associated with Red Tide and Green Slime, they cause massive death of nearby fish and local shellfish contamination , these issues then cause problems to the greater ecosystem, local birds and marine mammals will eat these contaminated fish and die themselves. Humans can also get sick from eating contaminated seafood or going in the ocean when Red Tide is an issue.

I hope that you will donate to ORI to help them stop Red Tide and Green Slime from hurting the ocean and affecting our ecosystem! We need more regulation of pollutants, it’s that simple!
