Stavros Home Sweet Home Program builds ramps for people with disabilities with low income in the Pioneer Valley.
Help them be home for the holidays! People with disabilities young and old are waiting in nursing homes to come home. But many can’t because they need a wheelchair ramp in place to enter and exit safely.
Health Insurance DOES NOT cover ramps or any other home modifications, leaving people with disabilities who use a wheelchair or walker unable to leave their homes for everyday activities like work, visits to the doctors, or emergencies.
Ramps CAN COST as much as $8,000. Even with an average cost of $6,000, most folks can’t afford one. You and your friends can help!
Through the Stavros Home Sweet Home Program we provide low cost or no cost ramps to the many people with disabilities in the area who are in need of safe accessible ramps to their homes. Home Sweet Home is able to get these ramps built thanks to donations of time, talent and money
Last year through Valley Gives Day (or as we call it, Ramps Giving Day), Stavros raised $16,100. We built TEN ramps (we’re able to get materials at cost, and volunteers help us a lot too)! We also were able to recycle SIX ramps. Your donation, no matter how small, can help us build more ramps and bring some people home for the holidays!.
You have the chance to give someone a smile and bring them home for the holidays! Please remember us on Valley Gives Day!
