Since 2005 Spitler School has been providing a primary education to Cambodian children. The student population now exceeds 600 students.
Inspired by a young tour guide named Sarin, who survived the genocide of the Khmer Rouge, Danny and Pam Spitler partnered with Sarin to build a primary school for a small Cambodian village where the smallest children had no access to an eduation. Through Sarin's dedication and hard work the Spitler School grew from three wood and thatch classrooms in 2005 to a brick and motar campus serving over 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. In addition to meeting all the curriculum requirements of the Cambodian Ministry of Education, the Spitler School provides English instruction for all students, and a sponorship program which encourages its graduates to continue their education into lower secondary school (grades seven through nine).
